Winter weather advice for parents and carers

With more severe weather forecast, Headteacher Mrs Bromley has written to parents and carers with details of how any decision to close the school will be made.

There are currently amber weather warnings in place for the West Midlands, with heavy snowfall predicted because of Storm Goretti.

In the unlikely event of school closure, our priority is for the safety for all pupils and staff. We aim to remain open whenever possible to ensure the continuity of care and learning. However, there may be exceptional circumstances, which may include events such as;

-severe weather e.g. heavy snow or flooding

-cyber security incidents e.g. may affect essential systems

-other safety concerns , may make site unsafe for pupils and staff

Any decision to close the school will be made carefully, based on risk assessments and guidance from relevant authorities. You will be informed via the usual school communication platform if this is the case.

Our Estates team will be on site early on Friday morning to assess the situation, with road safety and staff travel feasibility playing a part in the decision.

An email will be sent to parents to inform them of a closure and the website/social media will be updated to the closure status.

Children’s work will be sent to parents by email to Holland House and on Google Classroom for Town Houses.
