All homework is uploaded onto Google Classroom for the children to access at home. One piece of Literacy and one piece of Numeracy homework is given each week, consolidating work completed in school and children are expected to upload their homework on an agreed day. The organisation of this will be explained by the class teacher in the Autumn Term.
At the end of each term teachers may set a Home Learning Project to be completed over the holiday period. Instructions for what is expected of this will be sent home with the children and are usually based around the new topic which is going to be introduced during the next term.
Banded reading books are used to support home reading. All children will be asked to chose a colour banded book from the shelves in the classroom. Children are expected to read each night and chose a reading challenge to accompany it. The challenge card needs to be signed by an adult. The books then need to come into school each day as they are used during certain sessions in the day. Children are expected to get their books our of their bags and bring them into the classroom each day, independently and change their books, without support, when they have finished reading them.
