Dear Parent/Carer
I’m writing to inform you that after twenty wonderful years working in senior leadership at both Holland House and Town House, I will be leaving my role as Headteacher at the end of the school year in July.
It has been both an immense privilege and challenge to lead both schools. When we began this latest chapter just over a year ago, I wrote to you outlining my vision for a clearer and easier structure to support the educational pathway of our learners from Nursery through to Year 6. The work we have done in the last twelve months to make that a reality came to fruition with our recent Ofsted inspection of Holland House, and now feels like the perfect time to allow a new Head to continue that journey.
These are schools I feel deeply passionate about, dedicating a large part of my teaching career to a community I am proud to represent. I have the strongest confidence in our hardworking staff, curious and enthusiastic children, and wonderfully supportive parents, that both schools will continue to improve and succeed for the people we serve.
Having given so much for such a long time, I’m looking forward to a short break! After that, I am going to continue working with schools and individual teachers to support them on their school improvement journeys.
In the meantime, I intend to celebrate Town’s 200th anniversary with you all in the coming weeks, with an opportunity to bring everyone together for a special picnic and pageant at 11.30am – 2pm on Thursday 17th July. I hope this will give me an opportunity to thank you all in person for the support you have given me over the last two decades.
Yours sincerely
Mrs Smith
Headteacher
