Town House and Holland House Infant & Nursery schools have signalled a new era of cross-working and co-operation with the launch of a combined Local Academy Committee of Governors.
The new board has already met, looking to strengthen their policies and plans for the future. Broadleaf Partnership Trust’s Head of Governance, Mary Mellor, says it’s a big step forward for all involved:
Previously the schools have had separate committees of governors but with the appointment of Mrs Smith as the joint head of both schools, the governing committees have been combined into one to reflect the combined leadership team. Governors from the two schools were introduced to each other and then heard from Adrienne and her two deputies about the successful start to the new academic year at both schools. Governors discussed their plans on how to monitor and support the education at both schools going forward and will be attending school events such as parents evenings and assemblies.
Headteacher Mrs Smith says it was an excellent first meeting and she’s excited about the future direction of both schools:
“Everything we are doing is with the aim of making things smoother for children and parents who are on their educational journey with us from Holland House to Town and eventually on to Plantsbrook. We know the potential both schools have and as a combined committee we are determined to push forwards and create a bright future for all.”
